Bizagi Process Modeler

We've had the unfortunate experience of working for employers who did not clearly define their business processes. The consequences of this are numerous: training is a nightmare, important tasks fall through the cracks, nothing gets documented, efficiency suffers, and employees are frustrated. Creating flowcharts that clearly illustrate your business's processes can save a lot of time, money, and headaches. Bizagi Process Modeler makes it easy to create attractive flowcharts that outline every aspect of your business.

The program's interface is sleek, resembling recent versions of Microsoft Office products. There are tabbed menus across the top and an object palette down the left side. Users create flowcharts by dragging and dropping tasks, events, gateways, and other objects and connecting them with different kinds of lines. The chart can be divided into "lanes" that represent different parties, such as employees and supervisors or multiple businesses. We liked that the program has plenty of options for importing and exporting; charts can be exported as images, Word documents, PDF files, Visio files, and XPDL files and imported from Visio and XPDL. Although the drag-and-drop functionality makes the program fairly easy to operate, we do wish that Bizagi Process Modeler came with a traditional Help file. Mouse-over tool tips depend too much on jargon, and online video tutorials are helpful but move a bit too fast and don't provide enough definitions. There is quite a bit of online documentation--if you take the time to find it--but users will likely have to do quite a bit of digging to find answers to their questions. Overall, though, we found Bizagi Process Modeler to be relatively easy to use, and the resulting charts were clear and attractive.

Bizagi Process Modeler installs a desktop icon without asking but uninstalls cleanly. We recommend this program to all users.
